Access to Kobe
As a port city, built on a history of transportation, with its own airport and Shinkansen (bullet train) station “Shin-Kobe,” Kobe offers easy access for both domestic and overseas travelers. Kansai International Airport (KIX) is the closest international gateway to Kobe and is located on an island in Osaka Bay, close to a fast coastal highway.
Kobe, located almost in the center of Japan, is known for its unique style and exotic atmosphere. Kobe has been influenced by foreign cultures and has flourished as an international port since the old days. The city is close to Mount Rokko and is richly endowed with nature. It has flourished also because of the hot springs at Arima Onsen. Kobe is well known for its gourmet food like Kobe beef, Nada Japanese sake, wines, and sweets, as well as for being a fashionable city, with a sophisticated image.
